About Us

A strong family is built on love, companionship, trust and even image.  For most pet owners, their pets are, in many ways, every bit a part of their family and it is that bond that has forged the mission of Fidoz N’ Felinez Salon and Day Spa.

We all go to hair salons, barbershops and/or spas because it is not only important for us to look good and present an outward image of beauty, but we also go because when we look good, we feel good, and when we feel good about the way we look it improves our own confidence and self-esteem.  That feeling of beauty, confidence and self-worth is not only felt by the individual, but in those around them as well.  It is a feeling that has been proven to be common in pets as well, particularly in household pets like dogs and cats.

Fidoz N’ Felinez Salon and Day Spa is, and always will be dedicated to providing all dogs and cats with the best in all grooming services. We are committed to offering you, the pet owner a place where your pets will be treated with the same dignity, care and respect that you would expect for yourself and any other member of your family.  As soon as you walk through our doors, you will be provided with first-class grooming services by people who have established a reputation as being among the best in the pet grooming industry.

Randy Sonnenberg

owner/operator

Hello everyone, I am Randy Sonnenberg Owner, Operator and Head Pet Stylist for Fidoz & Felinez Salon and Day Spa.  I am so happy that you have decided to make Fidoz & Felinez your place to go to for all your pet grooming needs.  I wanted to take this time to tell you a little bit about myself and what brought me here.   I currently live in Damascus, Maryland, the proud and sometimes exhausted parent of 4 rowdy French Bulldogs.  I have spent my whole life around dogs from the smallest being my Frenchies to my first family dog a Labrador/German Shepard mix.  I was 13 years old when I got my first job at a local pet store in Olney, MD doing everything from cleaning fish tanks, to feeding the animals, to carrying around hundred pound bags of food.  From there I would then move on to PetSmart where I initially worked as a sales associate in the aquatics department.  I would stay there for 3 years, ultimately leaving for, of all things, a job in an insurance company.  In that time my desire to work with pets never faded and I would soon find my way back to PetSmart, this time working in the pet grooming salon, a career choice what would very quickly become my true passion.  For the better part of two decades I have worked in small pet stores and big box chain stores, but in early 2013 I decided that I wanted to live the dream of owning my own business and be my own boss.  I have always believed that styling and grooming pets is an art; it is one of the joys of my life and to see the happiness on people’s faces when they see their pets looking their absolute best is one of the biggest reasons why I do what I do.

Jessica Mongold

stylist

Hi my name is Jessica Mongold and I am a Pet Stylist here at Fidoz N’ Felinez Salon and Day Spa.  I have loved being around animals my whole life with my earliest memories being me riding and showing horses.  I have always felt that horses are some of the most beautiful animals in the world and even at a young age I would always take the time to properly groom and beautify all the horses I would ride.  When I was only 12 years old I began to learn how to groom horses; a skill and a love that I not only still have today, but that I have incorporated into the art of styling dogs and cats.  I have had dogs and cats of all different sizes, shapes and breeds my whole life.  I have owned a Standard Poodle, a Pekinese, a Bichon and even a Pitbull.  I have also owned many different types of cats as well, having a great fondness for Domestic Long Hair Cats. Each of my pets has been my canvas as I have worked to perfect the art of Pet Styling over the last 14 years.  I am the mother of 3 boys, all of whom have grown up seeing the many different grooming styles for dogs, such as the “poodle cut”, the mowhawk, poms, and even the shaggy dog look or for our cats like the popular lion cut. I firmly believe that there is no style of grooming that I cannot mimic, recreate, or design in order to satisfy whatever my pet parents want.  I am currently working towards mastering the art of show grooming, a skill that I look forward to sharing with not only those who would like to enter their pets into competition, but also to those parents who would like their pets to look extra special even in their daily day-to-day lives.
